Course outline:

Excellent leadership at all levels within schools secures high standards of teaching and learning. By growing leadership capacity, schools can bring about real improvements to the quality of education provided, meet the needs and aspirations of all pupils and raise standards of achievement.

This is the first in a series of three courses aimed at developing leadership skills in Primary, Infant and First Schools. This is a stand-alone course but subsequent courses will deal with Monitoring of the Quality of Teaching and Learning Effectively and Carrying out Work Scrutiny Effectively.

Jane Sutton

Jane has taught for a number of years in schools across the region in all Key Stages from EYFS through to Key Stage 4. As a Primary Strategy Literacy Consultant, she supported many schools before returning to school as a Deputy then Headteacher of a primary school in Newcastle. In September 2013, she joined the educationGateshead team and now works as a Link Inspector for primary schools with a focus on school improvement and training. She is an assessor for the Basic Skills Quality Mark and is a Key Stage One Assessment
